Appalachian Adventure Day 2: Lexington to Arlington, VA

We started this morning's ride in a light drizzle and it continued to rain on and off most of the morning.

Then...

TaDa!! the sun came out.

The weather did cause us to change our route to the Arlington VA area. Instead of going through the mountains we just stayed on the interstate, and as a result we got to Manassas, just outside Arlington, VA, earlier than we were expecting
to.

This meant we were able get together with my friend Andy, who lives nearby, for dinner!

Andy and I have known each other for years, ever since our news reporter days back in Sioux City. I hadn't actually seen him for **cough, cough** 20 years. It was wonderful to get together and catch up on our lives.

Fun facts:

Low gas price so far: $3.69 in Virginia
High gas price so far: $3.15 in West Virginia
Cloudy all day, but warm. Rain late in the day.
Miles day .5: 303
Miles day 1: 566
Miles day 2: 518
