Galway to Killybegs
Another early morning on what proved to be the worst day of our trip weather-wise.For about two hours, the weather was exactly what we were expecting from Ireland. It was chilly-ish and misty and sprinkled for an entire 10 seconds.
After dodging an impressive amount of sheep and getting chased by a sheep dog trying to herd the motorcycle, our first stop was Kylemore Abbey.
The beautiful old mansion is still an active Abbey today, but they let us walk around the main floor and the entire estate, including the recently restored Victorian walled garden, church,
and the original owners' mausoleum.
About the time we left the abbey, the clouds broke up and the sun began to shine as we made our way up the coast through Sligo and Donegal to Killybegs.
We visited the hotel pub for an early dinner,
and walked along the harbor,
and practiced taking selfies.
After all the crowds and hubbub of the last couple days, a little bit of piece and quiet on the shore was just what we needed.
