Day 2 - Ireland Adventure

Dublin

We were up and going early, ready to take in more culture.

Our plan was to end up at St James Gate in late morning. So we walked next door to Christ Church Cathedral, strolled along the River Liffey, visited St Patrick's Cathedral, and then to St James Gate...

...the home of the Guinness Brewery.

We had already reserved spots for the special connoisseur tasting shortly after lunch, so we had plenty of time to tour the brewery,

take in the history of the company (and an entire floor of Guinness advertising paraphernalia from over the years).

have some lunch with a wonderful view,

..before we got a very personal and inside scoop of all the different types of beer the company bottles. Our host took us on a trip around the world of Guinness. (sorry, no flash pictures were allowed).

The party ended with all of us learning to pour the perfect pint.

We'd planned to spend a good chunk of time at St. James Gate, but ended up not leaving until late afternoon and being thoroughly impressed with the facilities and the history that the Guinness company has work hard to keep relevant.

We capped the day off with dinner and a few pints and our nice, comfortable bed at the hotel.
