Epic Al-Can Odyssey

We are just one week away from our next epic adventure - Alaska and the Canadian Rockies.

This wasn't an easy trip to plan or coordinate, but Sean put a lot of time and research into how to successfully ride from Anchorage through Canada and end up in Sturgis at the end of Rally Week.

First we had to ship the bike to Anchorage.

We didn't think finding a shipping company would be difficult. Surely people do this all the time, right? It wasn't hard, but finding one with a good reputation, at an affordable price was almost impossible. Then Sean found a company that would ship it, retrieve it from the docks in Anchorage, uncrate it and have it spit-shined and waiting for us when we arrived.

They arrange for the bike to be picked up at Sean's work.

Trucked it to the Seattle area,

put it on a boat to Anchorage, and emailed us daily on its progress.

The bike arrived in Anchorage on Tuesday...just  day before our gear arrive at the same transport company, and four days before we join them in Anchorage. The bike and the gear are in perfect condition, which makes the rest of the week, and our flight joyful and relaxing.

If you need a refresher, start from the beginning and read about our entire journey...so far.

I'll write on the road as much as I can - lots planned for this epic adventure!
